Hmmm Honey, Come HERE!!!!

When I first moved here (5 months ago) from Southern California my husband mentioned to me that I shouldn’t be alarmed if I see little crawdad looking things appear in our backyard, he said they normally come out when it rains and he showed me the holes that they make but I kinda brushed it off. We don’t live near water  so why should I be worried?…….although I have on occasion watched where I was walking while in our backyard.

This morning as I was enjoying the view from the patio  I noticed my furkids pawing at something……I thought maybe it was a bird……hmmmm I thought wrong. I saw this ……………..

gross….ugly…..crawdad looking thing hanging out in my grass…………..”Hmmmmm honey, there’s an ugly looking thing outside; it looks like what you and Ashley were eating the other day at the restaurant” He laughed ……… I knew he wasn’t going to come to my rescue, it wasn’t going to attack me…………………….so I decided to just look around for somemore, but in the meantime I did this.

When in doubt…..put a brick on it……although Lily my furgirl didn’t leave it there for very long. She insisted on playing with it. Sami, our cat found the hole it came out of.

Well……………….for those that are all about saving the crawdad……it’s safe. My daughter picked it up and took it back to its hole.

THEN……………………not even 10 minutes later, I see one of my furkids rubbing in something, I was hoping it wasn’t mud…………..I wish it had been, he was getting a little cozy with this.
